"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream."
C. S. Lewis Married later in life (at age 58), C. S. Lewis really did set a new goal for himself in his later years. In fact, when his wife died from cancer a few years later, he went on to raise his two step sons while in his 60's. If for no other reason, you must admire him for that audacious achievement. How many times do we hold back from tackling that next effort, from setting our sites on that next horizon? Too tired, too weak, too distracted, too much to do already... the list goes on and on. There are so many obstacles to doing something meaningful that sometimes it seems overwhelming even to consider it. "I'd rather attempt to do something great and fail than to attempt to do nothing and succeed." Robert H. Schuller If you don't try, if you don't stretch, if you don't aim to become more - then you have already failed. Imagine great things for your future. Crystalize a vision in your mind of that dream you have and then go for it. Whether you only manage a single step in that direction or if you plow through the finish line in a blaze of glory, you've already won. Have a great week! -Mark |
