SEO for dentists – Part 1
What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the ongoing process to improve website programming code, website content, and incoming links on a website in order to optimize the website's search ranking for relevant key search terms with search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
Background info about SEO
SEO is determined by three main components:
[[[NUMLIST:Website code optimized for SEO
~Content (quantity, quality, original)
~Quantity and quality of incoming links]]
The first two items (code and content) help the search engines understand what your website is about, and what each webpage is about. Incoming links are one of the primary methods search engines use to determine how important your website or webpage is. Many websites today are not optimized well for any of these items, much less all three.
So how do you optimize a website for search results? How can you ensure you are ranked highly in the search engines?
In our ongoing SEO series we will break down and explain each component of SEO, and what you can do to make sure your website gets passing grades.
